I've said that 18 months is the hardest age to photograph. Not this guy. Not even close. It was a blast to follow him around making memories. Thanks, A for the fun! -Kris

Here are some more of the yummy engagement images of J&J. It was early, it was freezin' cold, it was a grey, cloudy day, but do you think these two cared at all? What's with the Orchid? (Salt Lake Newborn Photography)

I've said it before - I love making each session different and personal. When the Mom of this sweet 6-day old baby girl called to arrange her newborn portrait, she told me about receiving a beautiful potted orchid as a gift from her co-workers. She also had purchased a basket, and wanted to incorporate these into the portrait session. Of course I calmly expressed that this would be a lovely idea (and inside I'm jumping up and down squealing like a 12-year old.) The results of the last couple of sessions with the customized props have ignited me creatively, and I want MORE! So, I am hosting a "personalized prop" giveaway. Here's how you enter: email me a photo of something that has meaning to you (kris@kdportraits.com.) It can be anything from furniture to toys to jewelry, etc. Then in a brief message, let me know its story, and how you imagine it being used to create an heirloom portrait. Blonde over Blue (Utah Family Photography)

I love this family. I've known the H family since we moved into our neighborhood over six years ago, and I think we've been discussing a family portrait for about that long. I get the privilege of working with their older daughters twice a week through our church, and they remind me so much of my sisters and I when we were young. Miss T reminds me especially of myself, in appearance and attitude. It was a pleasure to get to create a piece of art for their home. Thanks for being so patient, L while I processed these! Man, I love these kids! Those smiles, those eyes! They are so loyal to each other, too - a tight, happy bunch of kids. :-)
