So I've been thinking a lot lately about the current trends in photography. Part of me really likes modern, hip images that aren't posed or refined. Images like that are fun to look at, and evoke emotion. That being said, however, there is just something about a classic, timeless family portrait that never seems to go out of style. You just can't beat a single image where everyone looks their best, and looks like they belong to each other. I don't know what the future will bring for my profession, but I have a hard time believing that traditional portraiture will become irrelevant. This family is one of my very first clients, and when we talked about what kind of session to do for them this year, we had to strive for something different from what we've done in the past, so we went very formal and very classic. I loved the whole session, and I can totally imagine future generations from now looking at these images and saying, "WOAH! Grandma was a hotty!"
