My Dancers (Utah Dance Portraits)

A friend asked me the other day why I put so much effort into my high-volume dance accounts. She stated (probably correctly) that I spend way too much time and money on something that ought to be cranked out as quickly and cheaply as possible. I thought about it for a while, and then told her that the whole reason I started doing dance portraits was because I wanted really nice dance portraits of my daughters. And if I wanted nice dance portraits of my dancers, wouldn't it stand to reason that every mother would want high quality dance portraits of their own children? It is for this reason that I put so much effort into my dance photography - and I try to photograph every dancer as if he/she was my own child. Too much? In the end, I don't think that is possible.

They are so beautiful, and you can just see/feel the love they have for each other!

Amen! I love your thoughts on beautiful dance photos. That is why you are such an amazing photographer... who wants to put out "quick and cheap" work with their name on it? :) Beautiful photos!

And thats why I called you when CBT was looking for a new photographer! As a mom of a dancer (and an amateur photog), I wanted beautiful dance photos! Not quick and cheap!

Can't wait for the CBT photos!

Your dance portraits are truly unique and beautiful. It's what first made me fall in love with your photography. I wish you came up this way and photographed my daughter's dance studio. I was not very pleased with last year's results.

You are so right! I've had the quick and cheep dance photos at our previous studio. There is absolutely no comparison. You are the first dance photographer who gave the attention to little detials, like fluffing a skirt, or tucking in laces on shoes, that I always try to correct. I remember 2 years ago coming home with our first dance photos done by you and telling my husband that we didn't just get photos, we got works of art! I still feel that way with every image you create. Thank you!

Wow, Melodee! I need to pay you something for that amazing endorsement. Seriously made me cry in the middle of Arctic Circle today. Thank you so much - it is ALWAYS a privilage to photograph your gorgeous girl.
